Why does Majirel mix 1:1.5?

L'Oréal publishes it as a quantity, which removes the ambiguity: 50 ml of colour to 75 ml of oxydant crème. Processing is 35 minutes.

The 1.5 catches colorists arriving from 1:1 lines, and it catches them in the direction that costs most. Mixing Majirel at 1:1 gives a stiff, under-diluted mix that spreads unevenly through the mid-lengths and sits heavy at the scalp, where the extra heat is already accelerating development.
